What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of biocompatible titanium, surgically placed into the jawbone to support crowns, bridges, or dentures. They provide a long-lasting, stable foundation that mimics natural teeth in both function and appearance.

Dental Implant

Why Choose Dental Implants?

✔ Permanent & Long-Lasting – Unlike dentures or bridges, implants fuse with the jawbone for lifelong stability.

✔ Look & Feel Natural – Designed to match the appearance and function of real teeth.

✔ Preserve Jawbone & Prevent Bone Loss – Stimulates bone growth, preventing facial sagging caused by missing or shifting teeth.

✔ No Impact on Adjacent Teeth – Unlike traditional bridges, implants don’t require modifying the neighboring healthy teeth.

✔ Improved Chewing & Speaking – Provides superior function compared to removable dentures and partials.

✔ Comfortable & Secure – No slipping, shifting, or discomfort like traditional dentures.

Are Dental Implants Right for You?

You may be a candidate for dental implants if you:

✔ Have one or more missing teeth and want a permanent replacement.

✔ Have good overall oral health and sufficient jawbone density.

✔ Want a secure, natural-looking solution without relying on removable dentures.

✔ Are in good general health and with no conditions that could slow or prevent proper healing.

If you have bone loss, bone grafting may be recommended to strengthen and increase the amount of bone, prior to implant placement.

The Dental Implant Process

1. Consultation & Planning

We begin with a thorough exam and 3D digital imaging to assess your oral health and determine the best implant solution for you.

2. Implant Placement Surgery

Using minimally invasive techniques, we surgically place the implant into the jawbone. Sedation options are available for maximum comfort.

3. Healing & Osseointegration

Depending on the density, thickness and height of bone, it can take from a few weeks to a few months, for the implant to fuse with the jawbone to create a strong, permanent foundation.

4. Custom Restoration Placement

Once the implants are strongly secured and adequate healing has taken place, a custom crown, bridge, or denture is attached to restore full function and aesthetics. For patients with more optimal bone conditions, the restoration can often be placed the same day as the surgical implant placement.
